Picking a bar review course is never easy. Most likely, this is the most important test you will ever take, so who you choose to help you prepare matters deeply. Obviously, you want the best bar review course. That's where we come in. Unlike other bar review courses, you’re not just another number to us. We care about your success. We want you to learn all you need to know and gain the confidence you need to pass the bar exam. We believe that Pieper Bar Review is your best choice. Here's why:
More Hours of Lecture than Any Other Bar Review Course
If you’ve ever had a bad law professor, you know how frustrating it is to be “taught,” but not learn. At Pieper, we don’t just review; we teach— and we teach well. This is why you’ll be in class for over 150 hours, more than any other bar review course. We clearly convey all the material you need to know for the bar exam. We start with the basics and build on them. So, if you never took criminal procedure in law school or have no clue what the Conflict of Laws rule is, it’s no problem. We'll fill you in.
Emphasis on Note-Taking
Other bar review courses provide you with outlines that you are expected to review before class. Or they give you handouts in class for students to follow along with the lectures and fill in the blanks. Unlike other bar review courses, we focus on note taking. Taking notes forces you to focus, listen, absorb, and write down the rules of law necessary to pass the bar exam. But don’t worry: we also provide you with more than 1,500 pages of outlines, so you won't learn from us just handing them to you.
Multiple Choice Questions
Students complete daily multiple-choice assignments that reinforce the material as well as improve the candidates’ test-taking skills. Pieper provides more than 1,500 practice questions, including every actual exam question released by the National Conference of Bar Examiners within the past 10 years. Plus, we teach you the process of elimination tips you will need to master the bar exam.
Essay Writing Workshop
As part of Pieper’s bar review course, you are invited to participate in essay writing workshops. You will learn how to write the kind of essays that the bar examiners expect. We believe that actually writing essays helps you understand the amount of legal detail that you can (and cannot) include in your bar exam essay within the allotted time. We understand that this is time-consuming for you (and for us), but Pieper is not about taking shortcuts. You complete 12 essays that our trained staff of New York attorneys will grade. While competitors may only provide a number grade, our staff provide extensive written comments on the content and the organization of your essays to help you improve.
To succeed on the bar exam, you must be able to understand many legal concepts and know when to apply them, while also remembering key elements and details. Pieper has developed a series of mnemonics that will help you to recall them during the exam. The mnemonics will jog your memory so you can write a more thorough, complete answer.
Pieper is not the biggest bar review course company, but our size is one of our strengths. Everyone on our staff has an outstanding knowledge of the bar exam and will always be available to help you personally. You can send your bar exam questions to our staff attorneys at any time, any day. Many Pieper students get to know the members of our staff on a first-name basis. Our support and input take some of the pain and drudgery out of studying for the exam.
